CEO Mats Warnqvist can be the entrepreneur of the year
After an extensive nomination process, Askalon's CEO Mats Warnqvist has been nominated to be one of the finalists in the prestigious competition EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2021.
Mats is one of ten entrepreneurs from Region Svealand that will meet in a regional final. The winners of the six regional finals, that are held in November and December, will meet in the national final in Stockholm 2022.
EY started EY Entrepreneur Of The Year in the USA as early as 1986 and today the award is arranged annually in more than 60 countries. In Sweden, the award began in 1995 and it is held at regional, national and international level. The purpose of the award is to pay tribute to successful entrepreneurs and to increase interest in entrepreneurship.
EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is one of the world's most prestigious awards for entrepreneurs. EY describes it as the first international award for entrepreneurs who, with clear visions and good leadership qualities, build successful companies.
Askalon's CEO Mats Warnqvist is one of hundreds nominated. After in-depth interviews with the entrepreneurs, ten finalists are appointed who go on to regional finals, which are held in six cities in November and December. Mats is one of the ten competing to become Regional Svealand's top entrepreneur.

I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved since Askalon was founded almost 50 years ago and how we have managed to get through the challenges of the pandemic.
The winners of the regional finals go on to a national final which will take place in Stockholm City Hall in early 2022. The national winner will represent Sweden at the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year in June, where entrepreneurs from around 60 countries will compete for the title of the world's foremost entrepreneur.
